    Final Assessment

The course learning goals that I have made the most progress in are supporting my thesis, and effective consideration of my role as a writer.

I had some difficulty supporting my thesis. At first, I wasn’t fully developing my ideas that support it. In my blog post 4, EH 101 Spring2012: Writing---Anywhere?,  I didn’t give enough details, For example, I didn’t write fully explain the different types of applications I use to write anywhere.  I left my readers wanting to know more. I took heed to the feedback and corrected it in Blog Post 5, EH 101 Spring2012: How The Enviroment Effect My Writing, by elaborating on every subject and/or idea I included in my writing. In my DS 106 assignment, EH 101 Spring2012: Deserted Island,  I explained  my reason for picking the assignment, what the assignment is about, and why I will need each item I chose.

At one point, I wasn’t effectively taking consideration of my role as the writer. I was not making sure my writing flowed well together. In Blog Post 5, EH 101 Spring2012: How The Enviroment Effect My Writing,  I should have used transitional words when I elaborated from one subject to another , so my post wouldn’t seem jumpy. I corrected this problem in Blog Post 6, EH 101 Spring2012: My Problem With Research Papers, by using transitional word to go from one point to another. Also, I continued to improve on supporting my thesis by elaborating on each idea.

I will continue to progress my writing. I will work on including a concluding paragraph in all my writings. I know with the improvements I have made so far and the improvements I will make in the future, I will definitely become the great writer I want to be.

    Final Assessment

This being the final blog post of the semester, I think it is appropriate to my progress in the EH 101 course for the spring semester. There is learning goals that each student should achieved while taking this course and each are fundamental to for any writer to improve. The learning goals that I have accomplished or applied to my writing, starts with me knowing how to brainstorm and map ideas for my writing, and knowing how to effectively compose a rough draft. The rough draft to any of my posts is usually typed, and then I read and revise the material before I post any of it as a blog. Considering that the brainstorm and rough draft writing process happens before I publish a blog, there are other learning goals that I accomplish to accompany this process. The other learning goals that I achieved while taking the EH 101 course, is knowing how to effectively revise my writing and how to effectively edit and proofread my writing. I can't provide an example that I could link to this post, because the four learning goals that I have mentioned, are usually accomplished before I publish any blog. There all pre-writing processes actually.
Other learning goals such as: knowing how to integrate others’ ideas into my writing and knowing how to document others’ ideas in my writing, I have learned achieved. Integrating others idea into my writing would mean taking their intellectual property and using it in a piece of my writing, yet giving due credit to the author of whatever I may have used in my own writing. A blog post that I published February 7, 2012, entitled Blogs vs. term Papers (http://eh101tsasser.blogspot.com/2012/02/blogs-vs-term-papers.html), is a great example of that learning goal being achieved. Knowing how to document others idea's in my writing, would mean that I know how to properly give credit and reference the used material of the source to the author in my writing. A blog post that I published April 3, 2012, entitled Haiku it up! (http://eh101tsasser.blogspot.com/2012/04/haiku-it-up.html), would be a perfect example that learning goal being achieved.
Learning goals such as knowing how to develop a thesis and how to support my thesis, I have achieved with the published blog entitled, The Transformation (http://eh101tsasser.blogspot.com/2012/03/transformation.html). The remaining learning goals that every student taking the EH 101 course should have this semester is knowing how to take effective consideration of my role as writer, how to take effective consideration of audience, and how to take effective consideration of writing purpose. There are actually two different blog posts that I published which fully incorporate the three learning goals that I mentioned in the preceding sentence. My blog posts, To Study, or Not to Study? (http://eh101tsasser.blogspot.com/2012/02/to-study-or-not-to-study.html) and Practice to Perform (http://eh101tsasser.blogspot.com/2012/02/practice-to-perform.html) are both great examples of the remaining three learning goals that I mentioned being achieved.
From all the learning goals that I have learned in my EH 101 course, there are not any that I have failed to attain; or any I didn't apply to my writing. I believe that I have made progress as a student, writer, and scholar. Every learning goal that was produced by the course instructor, I have achieved. Each learning goal enabled me to improve, and throughout my EH 101 course I certainly have.

    Final Self-Assessment

I have grown a lot these last fourteen weeks. From the length of my blogs getting better, to how to learn to revise my writing, I have grown. Being in this class has changed me a lot. When I first started this class I hate blogging and I didn’t like working in groups. Since being in this class I have grown to like blogging and I actually don’t mind working in groups now. In high school I started to hate writing, but now since being in this class I’m starting to like it again.

Stop Kony 2010 was my best piece of writing this semester. I took my time with this piece of writing. I brainstorm and mapped ideas out for this post. I think I accomplish most of the goals I stated in my final self-assessment. I tried my best with to revise this blog post. I still need help with revising and proofreading, but I think I’m improving by the day.

Blog Post 9 I think I showed effective consideration of writing purpose. When I first started blogging I wasn’t writing for a purpose, I was just writing because I had too. In this blog I think that I started writing for a purpose. I was expressing how I had started like blogging, but I was running out of things to write about. I think by doing that I was writing for a purpose.

Car Lust I think I showed effective consideration of my audience. I picked a fun topic on this ds 106 assignment. I showed consideration of my audience by choosing a picture of a nice car, that I think everyone wish that could have and writing about the car.

I hope to improve on how to develop a thesis and how to support my thesis. I also hope to learn how to integrate others’ ideas into my writing and how to document others’ ideas in my writing. I still need to improve on my proofreading and editing. I know that I will learn how to do this one day.  I now have a lot of resources I can refer back to all because of this class and I will forever be grateful for this class.

In this post I will be doing my final assessment on my progress throughout the semester. Some of the things I learned how to do pretty well were how to brainstorm and map ideas for my writing, how to effectively revise my writing, How to effectively edit and proof read my writing, how to develop my thesis and support my thesis. http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6566592209506510707#editor/target=post;postID=104063582510228608This post shows my ability to brain storm and map ideas for my writing even though it was a visual assignment it took a lot of research and creativity to make the assignment. http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6566592209506510707#editor/target=post;postID=8558209038592161026This post shows my ability to effectively revise my writing. I ended up rewriting the post 3 times this was the post that made me start putting more effort in to my blog posts. http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6566592209506510707#editor/target=post;postID=2565757768114646889This is the post that I started proof reading and checking my grammar before uploading my blogs. http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6566592209506510707#editor/target=post;postID=2702338786297876410This post shows my ability to develop my thesis. http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6566592209506510707#editor/target=post;postID=2003227517941440598This post I showed my ability to support my thesis on why I should get my work done early.

I need to spend more time working on learning on how to do better rough drafts. I didn’t have much learning on how to work on them in high school, but I’m sure in my next English class I will spend a lot of time working on using them. I also need to work on my ability to capture others ideas in my writing. I never use many quotes in my writing and I plan on to start doing that as well in my next English class.

Overall I feel I have learned a lot from this hybrid English class. I also learned I have a lot more to learn and that my high skipped out on a lot of my English especially grammar. I feel like I contributed a good bit to this class I attended every meeting and wrote every blog post. I know I could have started off better with putting more effort in my posts. But ever since we had our meeting I have worked harder on better content in my writing and proof reading and trying to catch any of my grammatical errors. Thank you Mrs. Sasser for everything you taught us it has been a good semester I’ve learned a lot.

    A New Me!

    by

This being the last week of my Eh 101 course for the spring semester, I decided that for a final post, I would show the world how silly I could be. All of my posts have been quite serious, but today I chose to have even more fun completing assignments that I usually would. As I have said numerous times before, in several of my blog posts, DS 106 is a great and creative web site for English students; today I will show exactly what I meant by creative.
All of assignments that I have completed form the DS 106 site have included pictures, or some form of art, which allowed me to be creative in every step. This week’s blog post is no different. I not only used a picture of myself, but I was able to modify the picture to show the change or twist from the original.

The Instructions are to take an existing photo of yourself, and edit in a way to give the picture a different look. Color your hair, change your eyes, whiten your teeth, get a "tan", etc.
As you can see, I went all out. I was able to edit the photo to my fondness. I actually like the photo to the right; I had fun editing certain feature of myself. However, I do not think that I could survive my everyday life with fiery red eyes and purple hair.
I really enjoyed this assignment, although it was more of a creative assignment that involved writing. I followed the instructions exactly, and my product seems to be quite frightening, but I hope the pictures do not scare anyone.
