Here is my video essay on the movie Life is Beautiful.  I downloaded the movie from youtube.  This was difficult because the video is originally in Italian, but I wanted it in English or with English subtitles.  Most of the clips I found are in English, but it is not the best quality.  Then, some of the clips couldn’t be downloaded so I had to download them in Spanish (which had better quality) and just chop out the sound in those parts.  You will notice that at the end I don’t use their speaking because these are the parts that are in Spanish.  I did all of my editing in iMovie, which made it easy to do voiceover.  At first, I tried to use MPEG Stream, but it was just easier to use iMovie since I had about 12 individual clips to edit.  Lastly, I uploaded the video to Youtube.

For me, the challenging part was getting the clips I needed.  I don’t own the movie so I had to find them all online.  I even tried downloading the movie from megavideo, but megavideo only allows you to watch 30 minutes of video a day so it chopped it off after a certain point.  The editing was not as difficult although it was time consuming.  I spent the last two days trying to figure out all of the editing, but I found it similar to Audacity.  I was nervous to speak and had to rerecord many of the parts when I would mess up.  I had to adjust the sounds.

I love this movie and I hope others will watch it after watching my video essay!
