I had a fair amount of difficulty doing this project. I’ve worked with my fair share of audio, but I haven’t ever worked with video before and wasn’t really familiar with how the programs worked. To do my project, I used Windows Live Movie Maker. Boy was that a disappointment of a program. It took me a really long time to figure out how I was going to do the narrations over top of the video. The program did have nearly enough options for the audio blend, with just rudimentary fades and a master balance between the audio from the movie clips and the second audio track, which would be comprised of different comments. I was generally disappointed with the number of options Windows provided in this program. I felt like everything could have been a lot smoother if they had a couple common sense tools included.

As for the concept of the project, I really enjoyed it. I’ve said for years that Forrest Gump was my favorite movie but its been a couple years since the last time I had a chance to sit down and watch the whole thing as I did for this project. It was really fun tearing out the moments which I liked the most, but also incredibly hard. There was sooooo much material I wanted to include as its such a long movie but just could not fit everything in in under 10 minutes. Once I got over WLMMs faults and just tried to deal with it, I didn’t have too many problems.  Fun project.
