My initial thought when looking over the first page of the article was not very great. The article seemed fine, however it confused me from the very beginning. As I continued to read on, I think I started to understand the concept a bit better, but I have a feeling that I may still be a bit off. Here is what I came to understand.
The internet is constantly evolving. When items are listed in a “.1, .2″ , etc, it is implied that the newer version is an improvement on the prior. This perception of improvement is based around a set of core attributes. As technology changes and people become more familiar with the ins and outs of programming and computer management and develop an overall larger technological competency, the original “Web 1.0″ ends up being replaced by services that encompass those key attributes in a more effective way. I also felt that as we make the shift to “Web 2.0″, digital face-lifts are slowly fading away. As the competency and focus on the internet as a means of information, teaching and even self-expression increases, people begin to utilize it more fully.
One major, and well known entity to come out of the “Web 2.0″ Era is the use of blogging.
