Is Matt Paxton extra nice or is twitter changing the world?

Two night ago, Maura and a few friends, went to see Matt Paxton, the main guy extreme cleaning expert featured on A&E’s “Hoarders” and owner of Clutter Cleaner in Richmond, VA. Matt will be discussing entrepreneurism, the UMW spirit, and his experiences on the “Hoarders” show., and also a Mary Washington Alumni.  When Matt Paxton was done speaking he asked “if anyone knows of a place I can do my podcast let me know”. Now I didn’t think anything of this, but luckily Maura did and suggested to him that he podcast in her apartment. He said, to tweet at him, so they did, and this what he tweeted back:

cluttercleaner Matt Paxton:
@apartment428. We are on top of lee hall. Hope you girls can make it. Bring some beer. #opportunityiseverything

After quickly realizing the potential in his tweet, Maura and Lindsay bought some Natural Ice (so college) we went to Lee Hall, and hung out, took part in a podcast, drank some beers, but most importantly, hung out with a celebrity.

Now five years ago, would this ever have happened? Every day social media becomes more and more clear as times goes by that we’re just beginning to really tap into the potential of the Internet to impact our daily lives. I’ve really just started using twitter this year and I’ve already met one famous person. Should I now expect to meet a celebrity once a year?

Or
