Color Splashing

I love this assignment.  I already take pictures all the time so this was just an excuse to have fun editing some images.

I did all my editing in Photoshop with the mask tool and inverse selector with the b&w adjustment.  The little girl is my sister and she has a knack for strange portraiture.  I wanted to get a static, yet mysterious feel so I asked her to wear something cute or playful. Of course, she has the weirdest outfits so she wore this dance tutu thing that works great with bringing out the color.  In the other two I just really wanted to bring out my friend’s awesome guitar and psychedelic strap.  I really like how it turned out so I took it a step further with the threshold tool.
