Today’s prompt: Create a photograph that represents the happiest or most memorable moment in your life.

Meet my family!!! I’ve been missing them a whole lot lately. This picture was taken along the ridge of Crate Lake, in Oregon. Two summers ago, my sister Hilary was living out there, so we all decided to go out and visit her and make a week long vacation out of it. I hadn’t seen her in quite a while (maybe about 6 months or so) and since my brother was living in Pennsylvania at the time, I hadn’t seen him either so I was so excited to get to reunite with both of them and spend time together with my siblings and parents.

The great thing about my family is that we tend to like each other. This may seem a ridiculous statement, but there are families out there that just dont like spending time together. They fight and don’t see eye to eye and as a result don’t enjoy each other. I’m not saying that we don’t fight or anything, but even when we do we still like our time together. Even though we are all older now (I’m the youngest, my sister’s 29, and my brother’s 24), we still try to take family vacations together. Most of the time this consists of reuniting wherever one of us is living at the time and exploring the area.

I very distinctly remember the day this picture was taken. The weather was beautiful, the views were unreal, and we were all happy and relaxed together as a family (the altitude might have played some role in this!). It was just a really great day and, with any luck, I will remember it for the rest of my life.
