Comic Book Effect

I tried to add this effect to several pictures, but this was the only one I thought looked ok with the effect. I used a blur tool and a “newsprint” filter since GIMP doesn’t have the halftone effect. Then I played with the hue and saturation to add a different color, that ultimately became the gray-ish color. I don’t remember all of the things I did to this picture, it was just a lot of playing and experimenting with different things, but newsprint was the main effect.

This is a really good tutorial. I attempted to add the font like she had, but was unsuccessful. I haven’t mastered GIMP yet, especially not working with different layers. I don’t have too much experience in using photo editing software like GIMP and PhotoShop, but I’m still working on it. I hope to be able to add it in later.
