I’ve met my visual assignment star quota and I’m cutting myself off! Done! I keep trying to do other things (such as have a social life or do work for other subjects), and then all of a sudden I realize that I’m back on my computer cropping and whatnot. Thanks DS106!!
This time I did the “One Shot” assignment. I immediately had this hilarious picture of my parents in mind.
We were in Oregon visiting my sister Hilary a few summers ago. This was after we had been hiking all day. I had taken a bunch of pictures of the scenery all day. But at this particular trail there were a whole bunch of stairs that led down to platform with a little bench and a gorgeous view of the waterfall and river below. So we hung out here for a little bit to regroup and rest. My parents sat down on the bench together and I thought it would be a good chance to get a cute picture of them together. Instead, I got this. Dad yawning in the most dramatic way possible and mom squinting/glaring at the sun/Dad. It pretty funny and captured how worn out we were at that point.
So to tell that story, I did this.
I just cropped the original photo a bunch of times. Each time I just focused on capturing one aspect of the picture. Then I pasted the parts into a PowerPoint document. Then I arranged than and resized them until I thought they were ordered to tell the story best and so that they fit on the page. Then I played with some text to really drive the point home. This was a 3-star assignment.
