Books: Common and Everyday Objects for an English Education Major

Being an Adolescent English Education major, it is pretty rare that a day goes by and I don’t interact with a book. I am constantly reading, studying, skimming and enjoying books. For both academics and leisure, books have always played a role in building my identity and they continue to hold a place in my life. I remember being just a child and traveling to the library during the weekends with my parents; now I’m 20 years old and taking myself on library trips whenever I can.  When I think of the everyday, it always includes books.

Manipulating the colors of the photo was really simple and I enjoyed getting to see an “everyday object” look new or distorted in some way. In order to give new life to a small collection of my books, I began by uploading my photo to Picnik.com. When the photo was finished uploading, an editing page appeared. In the top bar, towards the left, there was an “Edit” button. I pressed it! Down the left side, several different editing options appeared with a preview of its effects. For this particular picture, I used the “HDR-ish” option and toyed around with the measurements until I felt happy with what the new picture looked like. When satisfied with the results, I pressed “Apply.” When I felt completely done with the picture, I went back to the top of the page and clicked on the “Save & Share” tab and finally the “Save Photo” button on the left side.
