Three Star Assignment

Inspiration

This assignment will hopefully complete the Fantasy Ted Talk that is worth three stars =). (Three more Jim Groom) I would have never come up with replacing the speaker and content of a typical TED talk to whatever we desire. As a side note I must say the Darth Vader picture was one of the main reasons I did this assignment! It was both funny and creative. For my picture I replaced a speaker from TED talk with Master Chief from Halo and changed the screen to a chart detailing the different Covenant weapons. If someone is not familiar with the halo lore….SHAME ON YOU INDEED. Master Chief is explaining the designs and limitations behind the weapons the enemy is using. I imagine this TED talk will be focused on Master Chief explaining how to beat the Covenant through their weaknesses.

Process

I could not have done this without the help of my roommate and the tutorial provided by Thomas Ellis. At first I was not going to be able to complete this assignment due to my inexperience with Photoshop. With Ellis’ guide I delved into completing this assignment, confident I could complete it. I did run into some difficulties since Thomas used a MAC where I used a regular windows laptop. The process basically ran like so:

1. Download the pictures

a. Ted talk

b. Halo pictures

2. Moved the pictures to photoshop

3. Edit!

a. Cut out the Master Chief portrait

b. Copied the Covenant chart

c. Resize the Master Chief pic

d. Copied the Master Chief pic into the background layer

e. Resize the Covenant chart
