Grandfather’s Bronze Star
Unfortunately this is not an actual picture my grandfather’s Bronze Star (the real one stays in my room at home for now). He received the distinction for his service in WWII while in France. He also ran in the Boston Marathon until he was 70 years old, managed his own company, and had 11 grandchildren.
One time I called to wish him a happy Veteran’s Day, and several days later I got this in the mail. This Bronze Star reminds me every day of the man I want to be.
RIP E.M.B.
Sunday
