Ordering at McDonalds

I actually enjoyed completing this audio assignment because it was pretty straightforward. It was simple and easy, and you just had to rely on the sound of your voice and accent to complete the assignment. Here is my order for McDonalds with a somewhat Southern accent (not a very good one). My family tends to be pretty picky when ordering, so I channeled my mother, and made one of the pickiest orders I have ever made.

For those of you that are wondering how to complete this lovely assignment, here is my tutorial:

Step 1: Go to Soundcloud and sign-in, or sign-up for an account. If you have to sign-up, you will need to provide your email, and a password, along with providing some information to the website. I provided my first name, and my location, but didn’t provide my last name, or what I did to pass the time. Before you can begin to record anything, you will have to go to the email you have provided the site, and confirm your email address. When you confirm, it will bring you to the Dashboard page of SoundCloud.

Step 2: Decide whether you want to record on Soundcloud, or if you want to upload a file onto it. It was very easy to record on Soundcloud, so that is what I did. Click the “record” button, and make sure you have your microphone plugged in, or if you don’t have a microphone, have your computer microphone volume high enough to register your voice.

Step 3: Record what you want to say, and press the “stop” button when you’re done recording.

Step 4: Click “Upload your recording” when satisfied with your recording.

Step 5: While your video is uploading, provide your recording with a title, and provide a brief description of what it is. If you need to add tags to the recording, provide them in the “tags” line. Decide whether you want the sound clip to be “Public” or “Private,” and click “Save.”

Step 6: Write up a blog post and click “upload/insert” to insert your clip into your blog post. Make sure you change the form from “images” to “media/recording” at the top of the screen. Write up your blog post and click “Publish.”

That’s it! You’re done :)
