Updates on the Audio Assignment

My group for the audio assignment consists of myself, Danielle Minter, and Devin Lert. I’d have to say we’ve been pretty damn productive!

We met last week for the first time and arranged our whole project. I automatically was glad I chose to work with the people in my group. I had a great first impression of them! After brainstorming for a bit, we decided to feature a few movie reviews and celebrity interviews for our radio show. We also decided to name our group the “Groovy Movie Review Crew” — cute, right? Each of us took on a fairly equal amount of work, splitting up the two interviews, three movie reviews, bumpers, and commercials. We planned on writing all of the scripts so we could knock out all of our recordings the next time we met because it’s hard to coincide everyone’s schedule over Spring Break.

Our second meeting was this past Sunday. We were able to knock out a solid portion of our radio show. We recorded everything except the outro and two movie reviews! Even though it took a little longer than we expected because the recordings themselves weren’t supposed to take that long, I think it was really helpful to spend that much time on it. We were able to discuss each others’ scripts and give each other really good feedback before we recorded the actual pieces of the show. We even edited all of the scripts together so we were on the same page. Great progress!

Our third meeting was last night (Wednesday). We finished up our recordings!!! We also decided what we were going to submit today so everyone can see where we are right now. Although we haven’t done any actual editing or special sound effects yet, I feel like we’ve been very progressive throughout this whole project. Our recordings are completely done, and we still have a little over a week to put the final touches on everything. It’s much more difficult to get together than I imagined, so we were forced to get our recordings out of the way early because we all needed to be together for that. I guess I should have expected that since we are all fully online students! Despite the reasons, though, I’m extremely pleased with how far we are in the project and how we are all equally staying on top of things. Well done, group!
