I never really thought much of archiving before watching this video. I never thought I’ve archived myself. I suppose I didn’t get the true meaning of archiving because I do it on a daily basis. With Instagram, I post a picture nearly everyday of things that are happening that day. I don’t do much on facebook, but when I did, I didn’t think much of the pictures and statuses I posted. I’m not sure how I feel about the privacy policies. That scares me away a little to continue using that social site. As for the blog I created with ds106 I’m sure I’ll keep that up. I feel a little safer there because it’s mine. I can archive my photos, thoughts, and etc. and similar to what Jim Groom did I can send the link to my friends and family that are scattered all over the world as opposed to archiving to a site that I don’t necessarily have control over.
