On the Second Week of Bootcamp…

I did three daily creates this week!

1.

This daily create was about the great outdoors. In college, that can be hard to find. Luckily, I live in Ball, so my college backyard is Ball Circle. I love waking up and looking out on it when the dew has started to evaporate and no one has decided to take it over yet. I love it for the tranquility it brings.

2.

This daily create was one that didn’t require much thought. I live in Ball, there is no ac, I stare at my fan in motion every day. I really love this fan though because I got it at Target, and I got it when my house was out of power for five days when the temperatures were topping out at 100 degrees. So this is an object I am especially thankful for as well.

THIS WAS MY FAVORITE DAILY CREATE THAT I HAVE EVER DONE. I really like to do impressions! and this gave me the perfect chance. While the alternate voice is usually slightly more gravelly, the character is a person in real life. Her name is Aunt Martha and she is a native of Rhode Island. She goes to the RNC every year and wears a hat that she hangs tea bags from (tea party?). Anyway, she is quite a character and is a very sassy lady.

My creative commons post is slightly boring, slightly confusing, but hopefully slightly enjoyable. (These are the same emotions I felt about creative commons, strangely enough)

My gifs were so much fun to make. I got kind of carried away and made way too many of them, but I had so much more fun than I thought I would doing it!

Here is the post, and two gifs:

These are the two favorites that I created.  I love the Goonies so much and have done the truffle shuffle myself quite a few times. Clue is a classic movie (although I never liked the board game), I love the movie. This scene was often quoted by my friends and me in middle school.

For my blog, I had trouble with the flickr plugin, but then I decided that I didn’t really want it on my blog. I am not particularly talented with photography and don’t see the need to showcase it. I do love the twitter plugin. Another thing I would like to do is possibly change my theme colors, but then I really like that it is streamlined looking. I feel like allowing my writing style to show who I am works just fine, which is why my main page shows my most recent posts, instead of a static page. This also works well, because as my blog evolves, so do I in a way.

I really like ds106. I am doing things I never in a million years would have attempted to do on my own. For example, gifs are something I have admired (I like the real housewives ones on tumblr) but I NEVER would have ever thought I could create it myself. I fell in love with the process and was putting off readings to create more. Bootcamp helped a lot; there are so many things I didn’t know I could do but finally figured it out through the wikis and troubleshooting and twitter. Twitter is also something I never thought I would fully utilize until now. So I am thankful to be in this class, and happy to have customized my blog to my liking.
