Sharing is caring…. CC-BY license

One of the assignments this week for DS106 was to research what creative commons is and how it applies to the class and our personal blogs.  I googled what creative commons was, expecting it to be the rules we have to follow for the class, what we can and cant d.  Through various sites i learned that creative commons are based off of copyrights.  They are a set of general guidelines that tell the public what they can and cannot use.  Creative commons licenses are free to the public and allow the creators to let the public know what they are able to use and what they are restricted from using.  The licenses help to reduce the amount of time a creator has to approve or deny the public from using their idea/product.  There are various levels of licenses one can get for the information they place on the web.  From now on, I plan to use a CC-BY license, in which it has the lightest restrictions, which allows others to utilize my ideas if they feel the need to.  Here is the general link to the license.
