If someone else wants to write up a blog post about the things that we’ve talked about, they are more than welcome to.  I’ll go ahead and take the initiative though.  I feel like we have discussed enough to be able to write one of these blog posts summarizing our discussions, so here it goes.

Obviously since we are in Group 1, we are going to be the best group.  I would say that everyone in my group would feel the same way.  There’s just something about being first that always makes me smile.  I almost feel like our group is the leader of all of the other groups.  To those of you who disagree, feel free to comment on why you disagree.

Just today alone, we’ve exchanged (so far) 13 Canvas messages and over a dozen tweets as well.  We’ve come up with a hashtag to organize all of our tweets which is #ADAAM.  The idea behind that is that it’s the first letter of our first names put into a little word.  It’s very organized and then we can just search #ADAAM and see all of the other tweets that we have made.

For a theme, our group has decided on Autumn.  Since it’s close to halloween and we’ve already officially begun with fall, there is no better fitting theme than Autumn.  We’re going to do a focus around stories about halloween since I’m sure there are going to be tons by each of us.  Halloween definitely seems like the time where the good stories come out.  Everyone has been to that one party and had that one thing happen that they love to talk about.  There’s a good chance that it would take place in the fall too, so that helps out.

Our group has also gone over our schedules and found out when we can and cannot meet to discuss things in person and really get to know each other since we are going to be creating a Radio Show together.  There’s no better way to complete this assignment than collaborating in person and making sure that everyone is on the same page with everything that’s going on.

As far as a format goes, I believe that we are going with the idea of telling funny stories and incorporating sound and music over the stories to make them more enjoyable.  Rather than create something fake, we can use the amazing stories that we have and use those stories to bring our audience in.  Everyone loves listening to stories, especially if they are real.  If we can do the music/sound effects and it sound really well produced, I’m sure that we will have one of the best Radio Show’s that DS106 has seen.  Our group is still bouncing around ideas, but we definitely want to incorporate real stories into whatever we wind up creating.

For the most part, that’s what our group has been working on.  We’ve got a Twitter hashtag, a theme, almost a complete format, and all of our schedules for when we can and cannot meet.  I’d say for the first time discussing things with each other, we’ve definitely got a good handle on what we are going to be creating and the direction that our Radio Show is going to be headed.
