I saw this Daily Create yesterday when I was doing my Design Safari and I got really excited about doing it! This assignment asked you to draw the floor plan of the house that you grew up in from memory. I’ve spent half of my life in two different houses but the one I feel that I “grew up in” is my first home in Laurel from when I was a baby til when we moved when I was 9 years old. When I close my eyes, I can see the house just like I was there yesterday. But when I actually got out a sheet of paper to try to draw everything out, I found it was a little more difficult. I left some parts out and also couldn’t figure out where to put things. Also, I’m terrible at drawing… like, are those even chairs??
This Daily Create reminded me of my childhood too! Throughout my life (that sounds way deeper than this actually is), I’ve always loved doodling on my notes during class or at lunch or whenever I was bored. I’ve always loved creating weird fonts or seeing what I could do with them. Lately, I’ve been just doodling this font cause I like how simple it is. Plus, I love the color blue so this is perfect and what I imagine, as of right now at least, would be my personal font.
Another Daily Create I chose to do this week was to show a classic title from your bookshelf and explain why you treasure it. While I was making the video, I thought it was supposed to be about why you have it so that’s what I explained in my video. But it works pretty much in the same way because why I have it is why I treasure it.
The last Daily Create I did for this week was from today: take a photo that encompasses nothing. At first, I thought about taking a picture of my roommate’s empty bed because she is away for the weekend. But then I thought otherwise because that felt a little overdone. So I took a picture of the inside of our fridge because it’s pretty much empty except for the water filter that we use constantly.
