After I read this assignment document, I immediately was excited to jump right in with this week’s DesignBlitz Assignment. I took many, MANY photos but decided on just eight to submit(: Below are the photos by category, stated ABOVE them (:
- COLOR
I really liked how the ring around the speaker dial POPPED with a blue of color. (:
- BALANCE
I felt as if this wall was balanced by the positioning of the art in an orderly fashion(:
- TYPOGRAPHY
Oh to be in London for a day. I loved this font when I first saw it, and because most people recognize it, I decided to share it for this class from the library in downtown Fredericksburg.(:
I love the Quick 1-minute font on this box of oatmeal(: I found it eye-catching!
- METAPHORS/SYMBOLS
This symbol was on my voter registration card that I recently received in the mail (: I love that it symbolizes the fact that I get the opportunity to vote in this upcoming vital election(:
- FORM/FUNCTION/MESSAGE
INSPIRE! this is one of many inspirational rocks my family has around the home(:
I love the message I receive everyday when I look at this wall (:
I love this shot. I am trying to invoke a message using two different messages(:
- PROPORTION
I loved the consistently of the lines and the equal proportionality.
The proportioning of these works of art on this wall is perfect!
- DOMINANCE
I really loved how the blue ring DOMINATED this photograph (:
Upon completion of this assignment I have learned some of the basic elements of design. I’ve learned that sometimes color catches the eye more often than black and white. I’ve learned the importance of spacing, equality, POP effects (: I uploaded my entire DesignBlitz to flickr and tagged them “designblitz.” I’ve also created a set for this Design Safari:
Created with Admarket’s flickrSLiDR.
In addition, I added a link for each of my Flickr photos by editing the assignment document “Found Examples,” for each type. (: All and all, this Design Safari was a lot of fun (:
