Remixed Context

I was actually doing the 7 Comment Challenge when I came across a post on the blog Corgis and Cups of Coffee. She did a remix of Mean Girls and I thought it was really cool. I decided to try and make a remix of my favorite movie, Finding Neemo. The assignment is called Context. You take context from a movie and give it your own spin.

I first found a clip of my favorite scene (just keep swimming) and converted it using an online converter. I uploaded it to audacity and decided it wasn’t enough. I then thought of using music from The Little Mermaid. I downloaded the instrumental of Under the Sea and put it behind the clip. I figured they both had a theme of “under the sea”. Turns out they both kind of had the same rhythm too. I sped up the clip from the movie and changed the pitch of Dory’s voice. I then played around with many of the tools trying to get the right effect. I found the echo tool and decided it would be cool to echo Dory’s voice in the end because that’s where she starts descending in the dark. It was actually really fun to play around with since I was working with material I really enjoy. I am also slowly starting to learn more about the tools in Audacity.
