Week 9 Summary

What a fun set of assignments for the week!  My favorite was probably the Web Storytelling!  I had an absolute blast with that.  I’ll go ahead and list the assignments for the week and then get in to any reflection.

RoadTrip Radio Evaluation – I might have been a little too harsh on the RoadTrip Radio, but I was told to do an evaluation and I feel like I did one appropriately.  To any of the RoadTrip Radio people out there, I didn’t mean to bash your show!  I really liked your story!  Don’t hate me!!

ADAAM Show Evaluation – Evaluating our show was a bit more tricky.  I tried to be as un-biased as possible but of course when you critique your own work, you are going to think that it’s better than it actually is.  I tried to be as critical as possible when looking at our radio show objectively.

Web Storytelling – It doesn’t seem like we had as much work to do this week, but it was a handful.  I spent a good portion of my time working on the Web Storytelling.  It took me a while to get everything the way that I wanted, but it was definitely fun messing around with the code.  I think what I enjoyed the most about it was the fact that it looked like I was actually editing the Amazon page.  It felt really fun to mess with something and alter something that was already created.

Web Assignments #1, #2, #3 – These I weren’t really too fond of doing.  Since there were only a few to choose from, I didn’t really have many options in getting to 5 stars.  If we had needed to get 10 stars, I would have died.  A lot of them seemed like they would take FOREVER.  I don’t mind investing time in this class, but I really do a lot already and I feel like these extra star assignments that we have to do can become a bit taxing.

Daily Creates – Only having three daily creates this week was nice.  I don’t like doing four because I like to be able to choose which ones I do.  The more daily creates we have, the more likely it is that I don’t get to choose as much!  I still enjoy doing these because they are quick and fun (most of the time!)

In an overall reflection of this week’s work, I would say that I enjoyed it a lot.  After working on the Radio Show for so long, it was refreshing to be able to get something else in the mix.  The Web Assignments were iffy to me.  I wasn’t really fond of doing the Web Assignments.  I would be happy if we only needed around 5 stars for each of the series of assignments, but I can understand when more are necessary.  I look back on doing the ones for Photography and I wish we were still doing that!  They seem to be getting more and more difficult.  Maybe that’s because I’m having trouble finding ones that really suit my style of work.  I’m not sure though what the issue is.

Since we had to do the Web Storytelling, I would say that my impression of this week was above my expectations.  I was really scared about the Web Storytelling at first, but after messing around with it for a while, it was really a lot of fun.  Obviously I’m always interested in seeing what we are going to be working on next.  This week was pretty fun, but I’m just excited to get into the video editing part!  I love doing that and am hoping that it will be up soon.

I hope you enjoyed looking at all of my links and please go check out my Web Storytelling!  I’m particularly fond of that assignment above all of the others.
