Notes from no sound view:

The constant camera motion and cutting from different perspectives made me feel like I was a part of the action. There were several instances of one point symmetry when the helicopter exploded against the wall that cause a wonderful looking frame. Cutting to the operators reactions to the event unfolding in the matrix allow me to grasp the complete danger of what is taking place. Finally the dialogue lighting at the end was fantastic with what appeared to be the glow of the lowering sun on each of their faces.

Sound no picture:

The sound effects and music were fast paced to start, with a helicopter and alarms going off. Then as the scene progressed the music stayed the same pace with the rotors on the helicopter clearly being slowed down, showing that the action was turned into slow motion. Followed by a wonderful glass shatter followed by an explosion as the helicopter crashed. The dialogue at the end was minimal but meaningful.

Both:

Following Ebert’s ideas as the helicopter spirals out of control the camera and the helicopter are moving to the left which is less favorable. With a left tilt downward suggesting the world is spiraling out of control.  After surviving the crash, the characters interact in a light area signifying success and future.

Overall Comment:

The sensory deprivation helped me pick up on alot of action I would have otherwise missed. The scene itself was action packed and having just the visual and exploration of angles, foreground, and background laid down the scenario. The audio blind part was quite intriguing as I was able to hear when the slow motion action cut in as the rotors on the helicopter slowed. The overall editing audio and visual were top quality based on ebert and the other videos I watched utilizing many cinematic techniques.
