Winding Down… with Mashups!

These past few weeks have certainly been interesting. Aside from having 969875 papers to write, I also had to contend with Remixes and Mashups for Ds106. Below are the links to my assignments for this week. I think my favorite of the week was my Patrick Swayze mashup which might be the most ridiculous thing I have done all semester for Ds106– and that is saying a lot! Here are my 7 stars worth of assignments:

And my remixed assignment:

After having a little bit of time to reflect on my work this week, I feel like remixing media is a good way to get a little extra out of something already created. I don’t necessarily feel as if it is as true a form of creation as initial compositions, but I do think they have a certain place in the digital storytelling world. I also think I have done a lot of mashups over the course of the semester without entirely realizing what I was doing. All in all, there is something to be said of media mashups and I am glad this was included in the semester’s coursework.
