Talk about your digital self and what you do to archive it. Is it important to you? Why or why not? Will you maintain your blog (and services like Twitter, Flickr, and Youtube) after the end of the semester to support your archiving? Why or why not?

After watching Jim Groom’s talk about digital archives, I realize how much I dont really archive my digital self. If it wasn’t for joining this class, I dont think I would archive myself. For the sake of this class, I did join services like Twitter and Flickr. At one point in time, I did have a Facebook account. After I got into my sophomore year, I deleted my account. I had my personal reason but I just honestly felt like my personal information was always out. It was kinds spooky to me to know if someone wanted to look me up they can. Before this class, I would have to say no it wasn’t important to archive myself.  After taking this class, My feelings have somehow shifted.  Im not saying that its important for me to archive myself but it is important for me to get my own works out there. Im still a little unsure what I want to do with my blog. For services like Twitter, I dont think I would continue. Im not much of a tweeter. Flickr and youtube I would keep. I would keep my services with Flickr and youtube because I am more of visual person. I enjoy watching other youtube videos. I had fun making my own video. Also with Flickr I enjoy taking pictures and creating my own work so others around the world can view it and give feed back.
