For my first video, I was really unsure of what I wanted to make. I knew I wanted to do some sort of supercut, but I didn’t know of what. I was sitting down with my roommate one night brainstorming on content, and we were watching my favorite show, Girls. My roommate was laughing at the way one of the characters, Marnie, always looks like she’s in a bad mood… or actually is. My friends have a long running joke that I have RBS or “Resting Bitchface Syndrome”, a completely fake syndrome that apparently explains a mean look they think I have on my face all the time (even though I’m not actually a mean person…). So when my roommate said, “Marnie has RBS like you”, I couldn’t help but laugh and then I knew I wanted to do a supercut of all the horrible faces Marnie makes along with the awful things she says.
To do this video, I had to import several clips of Girls that contained the scenes/moments I wanted to use. I used iMovie to clip the scenes down to the parts that contained Marnie, and then put them all together. The process was really fast, it didn’t take as long as I though it would based on some of my friends’ complaints about working with iMovie. It didn’t turn out exactly as I’d hoped, but I think it’s ok for my first one. My favorite part is the end because I think it really captures what I was trying to get at.
