Dear God, where do I start? It’s been a while since I had to do all this and put everything together. Just did my daily creates so I’ll start there I guess.
The first thing I did was make an origami Lizard out of a post-it note. The original instruction video showed you how to make a pig, but I did the last step wrong I think and it looked like a lizard so I just left it like that.
Here’s the how-to video for anyone curious. Takes a while.
Then I took a picture of something I collect… can’t even tell you how many of these bastards I have in my closet.
Then I had to take a picture of myself making a terrible face. I don’t know how my nose ended up looking so sunburnt.
Here’s how to become a superhero.
Here’s my guilty pleasure (not really).
And finally, here’s me making bubbles.
As for the assignments I had to do this week, I ended up doing 4. The Chaplin-Foley sounds, a song mashup that told a story, a six song mashup where you have to try and guess what the songs are (it’s not possible), and something I ordered at McDonald’s once upon a time. Unfortunately I didn’t see the screenshot part of these assignments, so the only things I have to show on there are the completed mp3 files that have been combined into one stream already…
I think that organizing our topic/group name was the easiest process of this entire radio-show process. Here are some tweets to show some of what was going on.

@fairuzmaggio @caseyragg @dylangott1 @l_hampson23 I think we should do the soundscape suggestion. It sounds a lot easier

All that stuff was the easy part. Like incredibly easy compared to everything else. Everything else was a problem. We decided to use twitter as a means of communication, but I don’t always check twitter or my emails that I get from twitter so everything was really delayed, and, for example, we tried to meet in person once and the place was changed and I ended up sitting in the library by myself for a good amount of time. Twitter is the worst form of communication there is.

Then, on top of that, we tried to discuss once on Google hangout, but some people couldn’t get on to google hangout and others were late and a bunch of other crap. It’s really hard to do group work when you don;t meet with the group in classes or anything like that. I think the easiest part was agreeing on different things we had to do because we all wanted to get things done so everyone just gave in on different opinions.
As for my contribution to the show, we all agreed to do two different assignments that totaled about 5 minutes each as well as adding in our bumpers and commercials (not all were included). I picked an audio movie mashup which was pretty challenging and took me a while to complete but it was a lot of fun working to mashup Will Ferrell characters with Yoda. The other assignment I did was one question, where I had to ask a single question to a few different people and I had some fun with my roommates on that one. That one was a lot easier to figure out since I didn’t have to do much, I just let people do most of the work for me.
I think our overall product was a good example of a soundscape. We put transitions between each assignment so it wasn’t just random things going in and out and the listener knows whats going on. I also think the product was very high quality because I know everyone put a good amount of time into each assignment. I know a few of us met early Saturday to put everything together and we were all happy with the finished product.
I don’t think I like the audio process any more than I did when we did it a few weeks ago. I honestly had so much fun with it right from the beginning. It’s almost an addiction and I’m really looking forward to doing more in the future. I do have to say that I have much more appreciation for radio dj’s and things like that. This stuff is a lot tougher than it looks (sounds).
