Visual: Troll Quote

As soon as Brian showed us the ‘troll quote’ I knew I wanted to do one of my own. The hardest part of this was coming up with a clever 3-way misquote. I decided on Abraham Lincoln vs. Daniel Day Lewis Vs. Paul Revere. Abraham Lincoln sitting is one of the most recognizable images of any president. It was easy to decide who to mis-attribute the quote to because Daniel Day Lewis just portrayed Lincoln in the Oscar nominated film. This reminded me of the movie “Dinner For Schmucks” when Steve Carell mistakes a picture of Nelson Mandela for Morgan Freeman because of the movie “Invictus”. Lastly, the actual quote is by Paul Revere. I thought it would be funny to use a quote from the American Revolution to get people confused with the Civil War.  I found the picture of Lincoln and didn’t need to do much prep on it in Gimp. After trying out many fonts I picked one that looked old and historic to do this epic picture justice.
