Fifth Dimension Review

My Fifth Dimension radio broadcast team chose a Twilight Zone theme for our radio broadcast, and adopted a soundscape format. While I think we followed the soundscape format well, it was a bit confusing to our listeners as it may have seemed unorganized. Each team member created individual components of the broadcast separately, which led to a lack of cohesiveness. Perhaps this strategy did not draw in the listener as much as we would have liked to.

Overall, the audio of the broadcast lacked consistency and the noise levels were not completely even. Also, while we tried to eliminate white noise, there was definitely some evident in the final broadcast. I do think there was clean, concise transitions between radio segments, which explained what the listener just listened to and also what was coming up next. Various sound effects were utilized, with some segments completely based on sound effects, and some using minor effects, but overall there was a good amount of added sound. Overall, I would give this radio show a four out of five.
