One of the many great things to come out of last night’s epic sweet sixteen victory was this picture of Trey Burke rising high and delivering one of the most memorable moments in Michigan basketball history. I realized giving this picture a Color-Splash would produce an awesome effect. I started by opening the original picture through Gimp. After a few failed tries at color-splashing I was able to figure out a quick and easy way to do it. I drew a path along Burke’s jersey and then inverted the photo. I removed the saturation from the inverted area to make it black and white. Therefore the path around Burke’s jersey keeps its original color and the rest of the photo is black and white. I considered also splashing Michigan’s bench however I decided to stick with the original Color-Splash which is one single object. I really love this photo and will probably frame it will day.
