This was a very interesting short story, a little confusing at times but I thought it was fun to read because it held my interest the entire time. The detailed descriptions and the way the story was written made it so easy to envision exactly what Jon is thinking or seeing. I felt as if I was right there in the story with him and though at times his descriptions were very off track or confusing, making it hard for me to come back to the story line, I enjoyed the story as a whole. It actually reminded me a lot of several books I’ve read, such as The Giver, The Hunger Games, or of the movie The Village. I love stories where the characters are contained inside this smaller world that is all they know, and have no idea of the bigger world outside.
