Pikachu, I Choose You!- Cartoon Transformation (4 stars)

So, trying to make a remix assignment was really hard. But I finally figured one out! Last year, I took a course by Dr. Whalen called Adaptation, which is about how books, etc. change when they are adapted into different forms (such as Alice in Wonderland the book vs. Alice in Wonderland the Disney movie.) I thought it was an interesting concept, so I decided to make it an assignment!

For this assignment, I decided to pick Pikachu, one of my favourite cartoon characters. Pokemon also is a comic book series, so I thought it would be interesting to see Pikachu in its comic book form and compare it with Pikachu, its cartoon form and Pikachu, its video game form.

I got the clips from YouTube, and snatched them with PwnYouTube. I even grabbed some music, which is the bicycle song from the original Pokemon video games. I wanted to play some music during the comic book scenes since they didn’t have any music/sound at all. Here’s the song I picked:

And the clips I used:

And the photos I used:

And finally, here’s what I came up with:

It’s really interesting to see how Pikachu has changed so much throughout the different mediums, don’t you think? He’s even lost quiet a bit of weight transitioning from the cartoon form to the video game form, but I think that also has to do with the time gap (I think the cartoon came out in like early 90′s and that game is pretty recent?)

So let me know what you guys think of my assignment! I would love to hear some feedback (:
