So this semester, we had to make 2 tutorials, create and complete 2 assignments, and submit 2 daily create ideas. Here are the ones I did:

Tutorials

1. The first tutorial I did was on this video assignment called “Watching Movies with The Stereo on.” I thought the assignment was pretty basic, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to get a tutorial done. Even though it was an easy assignment, I found doing the tutorial somewhat difficult. There were steps that I was typing out that sounded really redundant; but I thought it would be better to be too descriptive than not descriptive enough.
2. The second tutorial I did was on my remix assignment,”Go Vote/Uncle Bob.” I thought this would be interesting because a lot of people use GIMP and GIMP wasn’t working for me, so I ended up using Pixlr to complete the assignment. Again, it was pretty difficult to write a tutorial about this assignment because remix assignments are about the individual’s perception and how they add in their own personal flare to an existing entity. But I hope this is still useful to someone!

Assignments

1. The first assignment I created was the “Cartoon Transformation” mashup assignment. I gave this 5 stars; however, in hindsight, I think it should be changed to 4. I think I gave it 5 because I had a lot of trouble allowing YouTube to make it viewable to the public. Although my video is still blocked from certain countries, I was finally able to get it up after editing and revising it about 5-6 times. Also, I had a hard time finding multimedia elements for the video, and coming up with which character I wanted to use. Since I just created this today, nobody has done my assignment, but there are so many possibilities so I’m excited to see what people will do. I think it would be interesting to see someone do Alice in Wonderland though!
2. The second one I created was the “Parody Video” mashup assignment. I thought this should be 4 stars because I wanted people to get creative by finding an audio parody, and then use video clips and images to match the parody. Again I just created this assignment today, so I hope someone creates a parody video for a Weird Al song! If I could change one thing about this assignment, it would be to make it mandatory to make the video clips and the images parodies as well instead of using plain images (am I making any sense right now?). I think then it would just be a huge collection of parodies, which is kinda cool.

Daily Create Ideas

1. Video-type of TDC- “Make a tutorial on something you think you’re good at. Here’s the twist: you have to be blindfolded.”
2. Photography-type of TDC- “Take a picture of something you think would make a cool postcard. Upload it to flickr, and write a hypothetical letter for its caption.”

Hope my ideas become actual daily creates for future students. I would be really excited to see what people would come up with (:
