Trying to go Toward the Light

Hello, My name is Rapunzel!

rapunzel all of my life I have lived in a tower with  my mother.  I have a window to look outside, but I have never actually been outside these stone walls.  Luckily I was able to make friends with a chameleon who I named Pascal.  I spend most of my days painting, reading books, cleaning, and brushing my extremely long hair.  It is feet and feet long. Let’s just say, I’ve never had a hair cut.  EVER.

Anyway, once a year I look out my window and I see these lights.  They are just floating in the sky.  The best part is, they always appear on my birthday.  It is the one gift I look forward to each year.  This year I am going to try to go see them in person.

I have decided to ask for some paints for the wall.  She got them for me before and I know it takes a few days for her to get them and come back.  That will be just enough time for me to sneak out and go see the lights and get back.  I’m nervous but I know what I have to do!

I found Mother’s computer and I spoke with some people online about what I need for a hiking trip.  I put this list together so I would forget.

I found a map and I where I think the lights are.

I just need to know what they are and how they got there.  Mother should be leaving soon!

It’s time!

So I got about half way through the forest and everything was going well.  Then the next thing I know MOTHER!  She must have forgotten something and turned back for it.  She dragged me home and I could not be more upset and angry!  I am not going to give up.  I HAVE TO SEE THEM! I HAVE TO KNOW!
