This week’s assignments required me to: Complete four Daily Creates, install plugins and customize my DS106 blogging space, two reflection blog posts, and create a GIF from a movie.
I had a lot of fun completing the Daily Creates. If I had to choose a favorite, it would have to be the one about putting Rambo in an odd scenario. What’s in your toast? is a close second though, so I feel pretty good about those. The English slang and Project Seen Daily Creates were my weakest since I’m not that great at creating spooky stories and I couldn’t really decide what film I wanted to add some English slang to. That doesn’t change the fact that I am looking forward to this upcoming week’s Daily Creates.
Customizing my subdomain didn’t take that long. I have a bit of experience with that due to previous courses. I find the Sickr Flickr plugin to be rather neat and useful. I’ll definitely be using that in the future. I may also fix up my About page a bit more too, but I’m conflicted. I would like to put more info there to help the readers know me a bit more, but I also don’t want to put too much if that makes sense.
I found the Gardner Campbell assignment and the Michael Wesch assignment to be very informative for those who haven’t already established a presence online. A lot of people can learn about the basics of starting an online identity from these videos.
The Say it Like the Peanut Butter assignment was pretty easy and fun. I’ve always liked making GIFs, so I feel pretty confident about that assignment. It was pretty interesting to see everyone else’s different methods of creating their GIFs and what movies they used in their GIF.
