Next summer, Jim Groom will be crashing into a theater near you as the GROOM OF STEEL. Watch as he flies around doing things Groom usually does, but with an indestructible body, super speed, the ability to fly and let’s not forget the most important ability, LASER VISION! Of course, the peace doesn’t last forever. Groom has to face the ultimate foe that manifested from everyone’s dark desires and is set out to take over the world. Will Groom be able to stop this menace from conquering the world? Find out in Summer 2016! Or you can just ask him yourself, whichever you prefer.

For this four and a half star assignment, I was given the task to crop Jim Groom’s face and insert it into a scene from a movie to make him more famous. I decided to crop out his face and put it on the movie poster of the movie, Man of Steel, along with changing “man” to “Groom”. The only reason for choosing this movie poster instead of anything else was that I thought it would be interesting to see Groom as a superhero and the Man of Steel poster has Superman right in your face and I thought that was perfect for this assignment.

I once again used GIMP to create this assignment and like my other assignments, I used the Add Alpha Channel with the help of Fuzzy Select and the Eraser to leave only Jim Groom’s head. I then used the Scale Tool and Rotate Tool to get his head to line up with Superman’s.

I then used Rectangle Select to copy and paste part of the movie poster to cover up the word “man”. Finally, I used Text to create “Groom” and increased the font size and changed the color a bit.

This assignment was a lot of fun and I hope my other classmates attempted this!
