First week of ds106 is done! I didn’t get to do too much creative stuff for the class this week, since it’s the first week. I look forward to doing stuff like the Daily Creates starting next week. As for the things I actually did this week:
First post for the class! Introduced myself and apparently lots of people thought my personal facts were really cool, which was great.
This was an interesting article that highlighted some of the important facets of creating and sharing content in a digital environment.
I talked about the article “How To Break Open The Web” and my thoughts on the internet.
The articles this week largely served to reaffirm my thoughts and opinions on the internet and digital identity. “Show Your Work” emphasised the collaborative aspect of digital creativity, which is something I’ve noticed has become more prevalent in years past. Originally, I was going to write a response to the article “A Domain of Oneβs Own in a Post-Ownership Society”. Then, when I sat down to actually write the thing, I completely blanked. All the things I’d thought about writing didn’t really make sense anymore. After attempting to reorganise my thoughts about it (and failing), I decided to write a response to the article “How To Break Open The Web” instead. I found it much easier to put my thoughts down about that article. Not sure why. Maybe I feel more strongly about that topic? I’ll have to think about that.
All in all, pretty good first week!
