End of Week 9

This week turned out to be great. With a terrifying storm coming, I had to do things earlier in the week to make sure I could get everything done on time. First I’ll start with my Daily Creates. As usual it was a lot of fun to just be creative. Instead of concentrating on the creates, I concentrated on a way to make them fun. Here is my TDC post for the week:

Next we had to change up a website by hacking it.. sort of. I had tons of fun with this assignment too. Check out my post on my website remix:

We also had to review other groups radio shows this week. I listened to Radtastic’s show and I thought it was remarkable. They had a great format for their show and they delivered a great segment. As sort of a love letter to The Walking Dead, the show was intense, humorous, and overall very enjoyable. My only critique of the show is that certain segments were louder or clearer than others. I can’t fault them too much because it is hard to be consistent with different recording devices (see my show). The editing was great though. Transitions were effective and simple. Sound effects were used very well. If I had to rate this show out of 5, I might just give it a 5. Maybe a 4.

After listening to Radtastic’s show, I feel like my group’s show is a lot worse. Our show feels more stitched together. Maybe this is because of the format we chose to go with. We did have to literally stitch our interviews together. Our sound effects were good, even spooky. I think they went great with our theme. I think the most impressive thing about our radio show was the group cohesion. We came together and got everything done quickly and efficiently. There were no problems, no drama, nothing bad whatsoever. I made some friends while we created the show and I’m pretty happy about that.
