Each day I go onto the ds106 page itching to find out what a new day’s daily create brings. This week I was intrigued by three.
The first was Thursday: Got milk? Another favorite breakfast beverage? Make a picture. Make it art. When I first went to do this I was going to go with my beloved juice of choice, orange juice, then I realized Hey I can drink what ever I want for breakfast so who’s to say hot chocolate is not a breakfast beverage. So I snapped a photo of my cup and fiddled with it in picasa. GOOD MORNING!
The next was Friday: Describe the sky in a single sentence without using any color words. It’s easy to call the sky blue or grey, but how about:
The Sky
A large magical surrounding full of light and dark, life and art.
The fact that the sky is more than just a blue layer above us, like I thought when I was little, but a whole space of matter surrounding us head to toe is mind blowing. The sky changes shades, the clouds vary, the sun and the moon shine, the weather moves. It is full of beautiful life and is a true piece of art. Just look at all the picture people take to capture a moment in the sky.
The last was Saturday: Contre-jour it, make a photo where subject is silhouetted by shooting into bright light. Some people take this photographs by mistake and are bummed or erase them. I was at the playground with my friends. We were swinging and it made us feel like innocent kids again. I think this captures it.
Now it looks as if I waited until the last minuet do my daily creates because of the days they fall on, however this is not the case. The ones earlier in the week looked fun and creative (obviously), but I was turned off to them because I did not think I would do a good job or have an original idea. I mean look at these! Then I found a quote by the AMAZING Sylvia Plath (check out the post title), “The worst enemy of creativity is self doubt.” I will not let my self doubt stand in the way of me next week.
