“The Syncher, Not The Song” Response

Douglas Wolk gives praise to internet legend Gary Brolsma in his article “The Syncher, Not The Song”. Wolk makes one of his best points while comparing Brolsma (Numa Numa Guy) to the lightsaber kid. The Star Wars kid is trying to hide his love for lightsaber battle while the Numa Numa Guy is expressing his passion for cheesy music to the world. He embraces the silly nature of the song and rides it to stardom. People respect those who are upfront about their passions. Tron Guy for instance gained immense popularity by being a huge geek. People recognize his inner geek-dom and respect him for wearing it on his sleeve… literally. I can’t knock the hustle and have to respect these men for embracing their quirks.
