Summary of Week 5

This week was a little out of control for me so I think some of my blog posts took a hit. I did 3 daily creates, and I wasn’t really enjoying them until I did the poem about my boots and found a ridiculous video about boots and cats. It’s really weird. You should check it out.

I really enjoyed the readings for this week! Wednesdays’ readings about reality TV and Lonelygirl15 were very interesting and got my thinking about my own tendencies to watch some reality TV, and why I do it. I also like that we looked at one of Lonelygirl’s vlogs in class and discussed what made it seem so real, even though it wasn’t.

The readings for tomorrow were probably my favorite readings so far in the course. I’m really interested in some things about film and I thought the article on watching for certain things was really cool. I’d never heard of the “positive” and “negative” idea, so that was interesting to read about. I love watching movies for specific details and techniques, so I thought this was a great article. I also found the article about writing movies to be funny while also getting a point across. It would definitely help someone write a very basic story for a movie, but I think it’s funny that all movies are basically the same.

By next week, I’ll have 3 new videos to share! I still have to decide what my last one will be about, but I also have a lot more time to think and focus this week.
