Photography is more than simply taking a photo. I learned a lot of great tips from the book TEN, with tips listed on the assignment sheet!
TIP: Change My Perspective By Changing Yours: Find different and unique points of view. Look down, up, lay down on the ground. Seek perspectives of lines.
I used this tip on the 15th: Take a picture of your greatest success or triumph. Make it creative and artistic. (THIS WAS MY DAILY CREATE ASSIGNMENT!) At first I just took the shot straight on, but after thinking about it and playing with lines I thought angling it this way really shoves the IB in your face and make a point.
TIP: Look to the light. Probably the most key lesson- be aware of light that works and what does not. Knowing about shadows, directions, aiming for directions where light is strong (or not). Good light makes every photo. Learn how to sense when light is good (and when not, and you can skip lousy shots).
When I first took this picture on the 14th: Take a picture of something, cut it up and piece it back together in a different way there were all these weird shadows because of the time of day it was. With the use of my penta-lamp and my developing eye for details I fixed the light to get rid of the shadows I didn’t like and keep the ones I did.
TIP: Get Pickier: Instead of using your camera like a rapid fire machine gun, spend more time pre-composing in your mind. As you get more practice, you can be more selective, and more deliberate.
Oh my gosh the number of pictures I took on the 13th: Take a picture of something brand new. Like shiny. So many shots and re-positioning until I came up with one I loved.
