A little bit of Pre-production

In this last assignment we needed to start doing some preparation for next weeks video editing by choosing two video assignments and doing all the work short of the editing.
For my first assignment I chose to do “Top Ten Moments” in which we were asked to chose the top ten moments of a sports game or any sort of television entertainment. I chose to do the top ten moments of one of the best talkshows (in my opinion) “Oprah”. Since this was one of the longest running shows in history I thought I would be able to get some really interesting and fun moments out of it. So I first went on the hunt for the top ten moments and there are the ones I chose:

10. When Oprah did Liberace’s last televised interview.

9. When Oprah wheeled out the 67 lbs of weight she had lost

8. Oprah Introduces Her Book Club

7. When Oprah interviews Michael Jackson

6. Oprah interviews Lance Armstrong

5. When Oprah interviews the Obamas

4. Oprah Gives Free Cars Away

3. Oprah Gets Flashmobbed

2. Oprah Reprimands James Frey

1. Tom Cruise Jumps on Oprah’s Couch

Once I edit all these movies together I want there to be some sort of countdown music playing along with it so I chose…The Final Countdown
.

For my second assignment I chose to do “Just Dance” in which we have to find two similar dance styles and compare them in a video. The two dances styles I thought would be good for this assignment are Break Dancing and Uprocking. Uprocking was an early style of dance that later influenced Break Dancing, so I chose three videos that I am going to cut and line up so the viewer can see a progression of dance throughout the video.

And I wanted some funky music to go with the videos in the background so I chose “The Mexican” by Marc Hype because I thought it was a good influence of both new and older styles

When looking at previous examples I thought “Afghanwoman”‘s example was really excellent, the two types of dance were very similar and the transition between the two videos was very smooth! I really tried to keep her example in mind while putting my examples together. I hope mine will come out as well too!
