Pause [four] a Moment

For this assignment we were supposed to choose a picture of ourselves that we really like and edit it four different ways. I chose a picture of myself in front of a Buddah statue at the Nelson-Atkins museum in Kansas City.  I really like this picture in general just because I think it’s a cool juxtaposition.

I edited each image differently to represent four very powerful emotions in my life: love, melancholy, anger, and joy.  In each of the images these emotions are attempting to distract me from my inner peace, but I am remaining centered and balanced.  I like this idea because it represents the attitude I try to hold which is why I chose to edit the image in this way.  Some of the editing was a little bit cheesier than I wanted it to be, but at least it really captures the four moods this way.

To make this collage I used pixlr.com. They have a collage option and I simply uploaded the same picture in to each of the four boxes.  I played around with a lot of different tools but mainly focused on the overaly tool.  For the bottom left box I upped the saturation to really make the flame I overlayed on to the image stand out.
