Dearest future DS106 students:

If you are looking for an elective and enjoy learning new materials in every class, this class is made for you. You will probably better off if you are fast to adapt to new materials. One thing I can guarantee is that you will gain a lot of knowledge about different techniques in a variety of softwares and will get to use them effectively to create digital storytellings. The only downside of this class is that you will have to be willing to sacrifice your extra time and put a lot of effort to complete the assignments, even if it takes more than 10 hours to do a single project. Therefore, my advice for you is that you should definitely consider taking this class if and only if you are NOT taking more than 18 credits a semester.
I personally think the hardest assignment I had in this class so far was the “radio show” assignment. For this assignment, you will need to manage your time well to meet and work with your group since it is a group assignment. It was kind of cool to make my own radio show though. I wouldn’t say this class is easy but I would definitely recommend other students to consider taking this class because this class can absolutely be full of fun. I wish I could have taken this class earlier when I had more time to do extra stuff. In the beginning of the semester, I even worried that I would have too much fun in this class because I absolutely did nothing but played with the tools that I learned in this class for the first three weeks of school even though I kind of can’t now. :-(
In my response to “What would you do differently wrt to your activity in this class?”, I would say EVERYTHING, maybe except for the radio show assignment. ;-) Like mentioned above, I would have had more fun if I really had more time to work on the assignments. Overall, my point is “TAKE THIS CLASS!!!”
