When given the task of creating my own website I was very intimidated.  Assuming that this would be a large and challenging project I did what my first instinct told me to: procrastinate. I began this task feeling overwhelmed and doomed to fail. Thankfully Professor Groom had kindly outlined the process. It turned out that the steps were pretty easy to follow. Although I felt uncomfortable with using my credit card to make a payment online, I excepted that it must be done in order to function in our computer dominated society and purchased my domain and web host. The worst part of my experience was waiting for Cast Iron Coding to ‘process my order.’ My fellow students had spoken about the helpful email they received with all their information. Waiting 24 hours for that email wondering the entire time if my request had even gone through was very nerve racking for me. Never having made a website before, I was unsure if I was completing the process correctly. I was worried that I was paying for the wrong thing and would end up wasting money. Overall creating a website and blog was a simple process that I got myself all worked up over for nothing. Now I have my own forum to communicate my ideas with the world. My next challenge will be to figure out how to customize my website. Wish me luck!
