Robin The Bird Wonder and The Majestic Raven

robin and raven

It was just a normal morning for the Teen Titans before they realized something strange was going on in their base. The other members kept hearing  intense flapping and screeching all around. They look and looked until they found an astounding image. It was their leader Robin and the introverted Raven who seemed to have been transformed into the birds that represent their hero names. How did this happen? Will they be able to change back? Tune in to the newest episode of Teen Titans to find out!

This one and a half star assignment required me to take real people, animals, or objects and add a cartoon character’s head to them. I immediately decided to edit images of the birds, a robin and a raven, and add the DC Universe characters that have the same name to their heads to create a somewhat humorous story out of the image. As you can see, the final image came out pretty well and it even made me chuckle a bit.  Now, I wonder who is the bad guy that transformed these characters into birds?

Oh well, to create this three and half star assignment I used the image editig software called GIMP. I first downloaded an image of a robin from Google and then PNGs of a raven and the heroes Robin and Raven from the Teen Titans. I then opened the images as layers and used Add Alpha Channel under Layer and Transparency. I then selected the eraser tool and used the right bracket key to make the it larger in order to erase the characters bodies.

The final bit of editing was using the Transform Tools under Tools to move and scale the heads of Robin and Raven to make them fit on the heads of their respected birds, shown below.

I hope you enjoyed this image as much as I did!
