Alternative Book Covers – 2 Stars

This assignment was fun! I decided to change the book cover of The Hunger Games. It may be a stretch, but I thought it was pretty funny.

In order to create this masterpiece, I first found an image of children playing monopoly (games). I also found an image of a cheeseburger on a plate (hunger). I opened each image into their own layer in photoshop. Using the magnetic lasso tool, I outline the cheeseburger and the plate and copied it into its own layer. I resized the photo:  image–> resize–> scale and adjusted the size of the burger and plate. I then dragged the newly sized cheeseburger and plate to the image of the children playing monopoly.  I went to dafont.com to find the exact font used from the hunger game books. I used my snipping tool and took a picture of the font and saved it as an image. I opened the text in photoshop and dragged it to the image of the children and cheeseburger. Unfortunately I spent wayyy too long trying to figure out if I could change the color of the font (to the hunger games gold) but was not successful.  I know it might be a stretch, but I thought it would be funny to take a literal perspective of such a complex novel.

ENJOY!
