Web 2.0
Web 2.0 is an upgraded form of Web 1.0. I think a lot of us in class realized this, but it was only through reading the articles that I had some understanding of the improvements made from 1.0 to 2.0. I was in 1990 so by the time I had the opportunity to use a computer with internet connection I was already in the Web 2.0 digital era. Prior to Web 2.0 it seemed connections with others via internet was much more difficult. Connections with other had to be through personal connections outside of the internet. There wasnt mediums and search engines that basically did the work for you. Whenever we get on facebook or google something we are bypassing the time and effort it took many prior to Web 2.0. As others have said I particularly like the diagrams displaying the changes made from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0.
Bryan Alexanders expand upon the definition of Web 2.0 to show application of the powers gained through Web 2.0. The ability to tell stories through blogging/tweeting/facebook was only possible through the advent of Web 2.0. As a side note I wonder if the younger generation will use these mediums to creatively connect with people. Perhaps since we are so used to Web 2.0 we will not use it to its maximum creative potential. As Feng Chen said I wonder what Web 3.0 will look like? Unlike her I wonder if we will even coin the term Web 3.0 since we are so accustomed to the internet.
