Weekly Summary – Week 5

I set out to do stuff earlier this week, then I got sick for several days and couldn’t do things like the Design Blitz as easily. Of course. At least I managed to get everything done again.

1) Daily Creates

Okay so the poster isn’t really about digital safety, but it fit so well and the poster turned out so well that I don’t really care.

Someone in my CPSC326 class must have drawn this up, since I know the problem it’s an answer for. I realised that I answered it totally wrong after seeing this.

???? ??? ???? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? 2-???? “?????-????”

2) Assignment Bank

I did a total of 12.5 stars of assignments this week.

  1. I made a sweet poster for my first assignment. I kind of want to get a custom poster of this for my room now, honestly.
  2. My second assignment was more stuff for the same sci-fi world as the first assignment. This time it’s a logo for a big space exploration company.
  3. For my third assignment, I made a DS106 propaganda poster. ???????????
  4. My last assignment was a pretty short one. Seriously though, Kirk easily could’ve just forgotten about what happened that night and went on with his life as it was.

3) Article Responses

  1. First response I wrote this week was for chapters 2 and 3 of Show Your Work. It seemed to be just a somewhat more in-depth version of the article about the book that I responded to a few weeks ago. I got to see the design of it, though, so that was interesting.
  2. The second response was to a few different things. They really got me thinking about the process behind designs I see in real life, especially in relation to typography.

4) Design Stuff

Only one other things I had to do this week: the DesignBlitz. I decided to take pictures of four different brands of soda and analysed some of the design concepts that went into creating them. Stupid? Yes. Great? Also yes.

Down to the wire yet again this week. At least I’m almost not sick anymore!
